Instead of a guide for rogues here's something to help you defend yourselves against them.
We assume that your opponent is an average rogue that does not think stealth is a cool animation and utilize it and own cooldowns like a rogue should.
Add that and 700 resilience - average gear furious set.
Now a rogue will always have an advantage over you because of the psychological effect stealth has.
MUTILATEYou want expect an attack and therefor a surprising rogue start kicking your ass.
The first thing is DO NOT PANIC.
Generally if you are a caster a rogue will start with a garrote, silencing you for 3 sec.
You want to try and get distance from the mean bugger as he will by then have a good chunk of your HP
and 5 combo points.
Expect a kidney shot and that is 6 seconds of buttraep if you dont have a pvp trinket with you.(Wont talk about reducing effects such as meta gems or racials)
You want to use the trinket right away and have an OFFENSIVE and defensive cd ready i.e. Maegz - Icebllock - > frostnova
The goal now is to force him to CLOS or vanish.
Most classes have a dot - keep a dot always on the rogue.
In order to vanish and reopen properly he will clos and then vanish.
Now if you manage to counter that you pretty much won the fight. Have an AOE spell ready and cast it on the area he vanishes right away.
No clicking allowed if u aint some uber1337 skillzorZ at it or ull miss coz of being slow and u loose.
The average PVP spec allows 2 vanishes with prep so therefor he can do it again but now he wont have clos.
DOT prevents this as he will use vanish and itll brake in a global cd.
(Now some rogues vanish in between dot ticks , manage to cheap shot u in the split second they have,
but thats advanced and should u encounter such a rogue ull loose anyhow
).
A druids faery fire is one of the biggest pain in the ass for rogz. + moonfire
Basically to win u need to not let him utilize his stealth as this is the strongest weapon rogz have.
Now if you have deadly poison on you ticking the rog wont blind u.
However if he is smart and lets it drop of u can expect a blind.
And you want have trinket ready so the dot u keep on him is essential.
If you fail to dot ull get 10 sec blind he will bandage, restealth, cheap and kidney shot you without diminishing returns into 8 secs of raepage.
Can let the keybord go now
Unless you are a maeg or dudu or a loladin (Bskin op in stun usable wtf or IB and ofc Bubble).
Force his cooldowns to be used for his defense and you'll be incharge of the fight, else he will use them for offense and you'll die.
That is pretty much for casters.
Now melee is a different thing.Evasion = run and try get in his back.Standing like an npc gets u killed.
Rotate and try confuse him keep yourself on the move.
For other rogs - shiv can not be dodged. Piercing howl either, frost traps as well shock wave, thunder clap , chains of ice (has a hisher miss chance but u want to take that risk).
Generally if a rogue disarms you you pay him back the favor (You should have titanium weapon chain for pvp its a must if u dont get one
)
if he has evasion a disarm will go to waste so if you can try not to use it, unless have him slowed and can get behind him (he cant dodge it then).
To survive the first attacks you need resilience.No really you NEED resilience.
700 is an absolute minimum for clothies (Except maegz , yes AGAIN
if you ask why well thats a different story or you just aint familiar with them)
Melee still need to have aoe ready for a the vanish - demo shout, death and decay, FoK, etc.(NO CLICKING ITZ!!11one)

COMBATBasically combat has a fully functional IWIN button - Killing spree.
Combined with expose armor you die in a global. if you survive that u win because a combat rogue doesnt have prep so only 1x Evasion 1x vanish 1x sprint.
Some pve champs pvp in combat and full pve gear. If they have killing spree available u die.
If not u rape em using the above said thingies.
