the following gear requiremtns should be aquired:

Hit ** >> Spell power till about 2.2+ spell power >> haste

**untill 17 %, [dis-including the 3% from talents] or 14% with a shadowpriest.

Gems

There is little to be said regarding gems that is not covered by looking at stat EP values. However, it is important to note that [Chaotic Skyflare Diamond] is the only meta you should use.

For most cases, the gems you should use in various slots are as follows:
Red: [Runed Cardinal Ruby]
Blue: two [Glowing Dreadstone] to meet the meta requirement in blue slots with the highest spellpower socket bonuses, otherwise [Runed Cardinal Ruby]
Yellow: [Reckless Ametrine] if over hit cap, otherwise [Veiled Ametrine]

Dont gem for crit or gain more crit from crit.

Haste as above will always increase dmg.
Greatly affecting lightning bolts and the increase on lava burst and flame shock is average.


Recommenned Glyphs

Glyph of Lightning Bolt 4% total damage gain to Lightning Bolt, and also increases damage done by Lightning Overload procs.

Glyph of Flame Shock Identical to the 2pc set bonus of Tier 8. If you have that set bonus, you do not need this glyph.

Glyph of Totem of Wrath 84 spellpower affects all spells. Is better than Lava under almost all conditions (i.e. if you aren't using the T9 4pc set bonus).

As said, spellpower is the new way to go for elemental shamans. But I found another tip aswell.

If you are HIt capped (which is rather easy to achieve) take Scroll of Enchant Boots - Tuskarr's Vitality => Movement speed + 15 stam. Moving faster makes you cast faster when you need top move... Seems to be one of underestimated enchants...
